"After an injury during the summer, I wanted to start running again. I was looking for a coach who could help me gradually build back up while also training specifically for a half marathon. I also wanted to include swim sessions and core stability training.

Due to a lack of knowledge, I was really just looking for reassurance — to avoid falling back into the same injury that had already sidelined me for three months. It was also the first time I wanted to build up running sessions intensively towards a specific goal.

By working with Alan, I didn’t have to spend time during the week thinking about which training session I should do. I simply shared my availability for the weeks ahead, and Alan used that to tailor the training plan.

During my first half marathon, I was able to run a time of 1h52 — against all expectations. The training was focused on heart rate, and at the time I wasn’t entirely sure if that approach would allow me to increase my pace. But when I managed to maintain a steady pace throughout the race, I realised how much the training had truly helped.

Alan is a coach with knowledge across multiple sports. He’s a trainer who dives into a wide range of topics, so he can give advice on many fronts. A great person to work with."
