"Until 2014, I cycled a lot at weekends and spent my summers riding in the Dolomites in Italy. In 2014, I was planning to ride ‘Tour for Life’ from Bardonecchia to Valkenburg. However, due to incorrect training, I developed runner’s knee. I made several attempts to recover from it, but every time things started to improve, the injury would return. This year, I gave it one more try with dry needling from my physiotherapist. I was pain-free, but I knew that if I started training on my own again, things would go wrong."

"While searching online, I came across Alan and asked if he could train me. To be completely honest, it wasn’t easy at first. I had to ride at a very low pace and power – following a polarised training approach. Now, after more than six months, I’m reaping the benefits. I can cycle much more easily over longer distances while keeping my heart rate low. My speed is also improving. Next year, I’m taking on ‘The Ride’ – an incredible challenge – and with Alan’s guidance, I’m confident I will succeed."
