"I had a big goal in mind, in a sport where I had no prior experience. I was looking for a coach who could structure and prescribe my training, specifically for triathlon.

For a while, I tried to organise my own training sessions. However, I quickly ran into a problem: I couldn’t structure my sessions properly and lacked the knowledge and expertise to provide my body with the right amount of load it could handle. I found it frustrating not knowing whether I was making progress in the right areas relevant to my goal – an Ironman.

The training sessions Alan provided were structured and goal-oriented. This gave me confidence that my training would be beneficial in the long run. It also made training more enjoyable because I knew I was on the right track, thanks to his confirmation and the detailed descriptions in TrainingPeaks, along with our email contact.

I started noticing improvements in my performance – my pace, time, and overall feeling became much better. By training with the right guidance that Alan provided, I developed a good sense of how a certain zone or pace should feel. Over time, everything became much easier, and I got to know my body and my limits (and how to push them) much better.

Alan provides a pleasant coaching experience by being clear about the training, offering detailed explanations, and thoroughly explaining the reasoning behind them. He is always willing to think along when obstacles arise and is honest about the situation."
