Jelle Vanendert is selected for the first European Championships for pros

Monday, August 29, 2016. Jelle Vanendert is selected for the Belgian team that will compete at the European Championships in Plumelec (France). On Sunday, September 18th, a week after the Vuelta, the first European Road Championship for elites will take place in Brittany in France. Recently, this place has taken over the organization of this championship from Nice.

Coach Kevin de Weert also selected Philipe Gilbert, Loïc Vliegen, and Ben Hermans (BMC), Gianni Meersman (Etixx-Quick Step), Jan Bakelants (AG2R), Jens Keukeleire (Orica-BikeExchange), Eliot Lietaer (Topsport Vlaanderen) and Jelle’s teammate at Lotto-Soudal Tiesj Benoot.

The competition is likely to be held on the same course as the GP Plumelec-Morbihan. This race ends on the Côte de Cadoudal, a 1.8km climb with an average gradient of 7.8%.
