Jelle Vanendert

Jelle Vanendert is coached by Alan Smeets since December 2012, before this he trained in without a coach. In 2007 Jelle got his first professional contract and showed his qualities immediately by becoming the best Belgian cyclist in la Fleche Wallonne with a 12th place. Since 2009, Jelle competes for Lotto and in 2011 he proved his climbing talents with a victory in the 12th stage of the Tour de France on Plateau de Beille (France). In 2012 Jelle became second in the Amstel Gold race, and 2013 was overshadowed by illness.

    Monday, August 29, 2016. Jelle Vanendert is selected for the Belgian team that will compete at the European Championships in Plumelec (France). On Sunday, September 18th, a week after the Vuelta, the first European Road Championship for elites will take place in Brittany in France. Recently, this place has taken over the organization of this championship from Nice.

  • Jelle Vanendert starts in the Vuelta

    Saturday August 22 2015. Today starts in Puerto Banús the Tour of Spain with a team time trial over 7.4 kilometres to Marbella. Jelle Vanendert takes part in this race for his team Lotto Soudal. The Vuelta lasts three weeks and finishes on September 13 in Madrid. For Jelle this is his fourth participation in the Vuelta.

    Monday February 9 2015. Jelle Vanendert performed very well during an exercise test. He is now preparing for the 2015 cycling season. Compared to his exercise test in November he improved his endurance base significantly.

    Monday, April 28, 2014. Dennis and Jelle Vanendert performed again extremely good. In Liege Bastogne Liege became Jelle 11th and Dennis showed himself in the final of the race at the front.

    Thursday, April 24, 2014. Jelle Vanendert was very strong in the Flèche Wallonne, at the Wall of Huy he became sixth. Alejandro Valverde won before Daniel Martin and Michal Kwiatkowski. Dennis Vanendert had a tough day due to a crash.
